Monastiraki, Athens

While in Paris in 2010 I saw an exhibition of Michael von Graffenreid's photography documenting life in Algeria, where in order to gain people's trust, he at first shot images of them from the waist.  I experimented using this technique when I got to Athens, and then again later in Melbourne.
